My cat is acting funny!?

2 days ago I took my Mane Coon cat to have his yearly shaving and rabies vaccine. He hates the vet so when they shave him they have to knock him out. That was Monday and it is now Wednesday and he is still acting like he is doped up from the anesthesia and not at all himself. He sleeps in a different spot and hasn’t come up to me at all and he does that all the time. He seems lethargic and unsteady, also I notices that his whiskers were cut off on one side! I think there might have been a new groomer because he has always come out normal before. So basically my question is, is it his whiskers being cut that is making him act weird or could it be a reaction to the rabies shot or the anesthesia? I have called my vet and am waiting on a call back but in the meantime I thought I would pick the brains of the good people of Yahoo. Please help, I am worried about my kitty.

It's the anesthesia. The same thing happend to my cat when the put her under for her yearly dental cleaning. Every time they put a cat under it can have a different effect. With mine they had to check her organ functions to make sure she was propery breaking down the anesthesia. It took 5 days but it was a relief that she was ok.

As for cutting 1 side of the whiskers that is untrue. They grow out to a cats body width but to not provide balance. Ask you vet.
