Besides being bullied all through school, the hardest challenge I ever went through was getting my wife to finally say yes to go out on a date with me.

To get her, I did everything a gentleman could possibly do. I sent her flowers and cards. I wrote her letters. I asked her out probably a hundred times, but she always turned me down. After high school ended, we went separate ways.

We met again about 5 years later. I still had a deep love for her that never faded. I asked her out again, and to my surprise, she said, YES! After dating for about a year and a half, we married. We were happy, but there was always a burning question I had in my mind.

Finally, I got enough courage to ask her. “Honey, why did you finally say yes to going out with me after I asked you so many times before?” Her face turned red!

With tears in her eyes, she said, “I’ve always had a complex about going out with short men. I just never found them to be attractive. When I saw you again 5 years later, I was surprised and excited to hear about your new discovery and how you managed to grow 4 inches taller. Harper Lee borrowed this structure of 3 women "mothering" Scout from nature or from Bible?

Set in the South, To Kill A Mockingbird, has three women around Scout character to "mother" her to some extent (Calpurnia/Maudie/Alexandra) - so did she take this from the three daughters of Job, or the Inner Circle of Peter/James/John mentioned by Paul? Lee is still alive...I think it came from the natural environment; kingdoms of mineral/plant/animal; roots/branches/leaves of plants; animal head/body/limbs; growing period of formation/growth/completion; gas/liquid/solid forms of matter. What do you think about this perspective?
Even if you do not "see" the meaning of something (like a pattern from nature such as three women used in Lee's story/novel) does not mean that it will not be recognized at some point. Calpurnia, Maudie and Alexandra represent a pattern for this reader of TKAM...and perhaps some others out there. WHAT IF the author gave Mayella these three "intervene" with Bob Ewell? Make a nice skit for a literary activity?

I did not find the actual number of women significant....what i DID find significant was that without a direct maternal presence in their lives (a mother,and aunt, a sister, a grandmother) this child activley sought it out on her own....craved a woman's persepctive and company and was inwardly driven to fulfill it. I dont see why the number of actual women is all that significant.
