i have a Fred Bear® Grizzly Recurve Bow
length 58'
Dacron string
pull weight is 45 pounds
and i am starting out
Depending you your budget, there are several materials You Can use.
Wood Cedar shafts, Fiberglass shafts, Aluminum shafts, and Carbon Shafts.
Wood Cedar shafts are probably the cheapest, next might be Aluminum shafts; you will probably need the 11/32" shafts for durability. You will probably need a draw length of 28" to 30" shafts. Field Points unless your are thinking about shooting tournaments. You may need 2-1/2" to 4" fletching.
