Super Hero Games for the Nintendo Wii

Super heroes have been around for a very long time in the form of comic books and action figures. They have found their way to the big screen and even to the world of video games. They are timeless and they never seem to go out of style. It seems in this world of good and evil there is always room for one more super hero to come along and save the day.

If you love super heroes you will be very excited to discover that there are plenty of Nintendo Wii games that fit into this category. The have wonderful effects so You Can feel like you are a part of the game. You can bring the characters to life instead of just moving them around. You will likely get lost in the action that is going on.

One of the newest ones out there is Spiderman 3. Set in the city of New York, Spiderman is out there trying to save the day anyway he can. What is very original about this version of the game is that you can go with the regular suit or the black one that Spiderman wears in the movie. When Spiderman is wearing the black suit he is stronger and faster. Yet we all know there are ways in which that suit consumes him so you better be ready for them in the game.

There are complete storylines from the movie that you can play through if you wish to do so. If not, you will have the option to create Your Own scenes along the way. With this particular super hero game for the Wii you aren’t just trying to save others; you are trying to save Spiderman from himself as well. Will your desire for power be too much and lead to your own destruction? Will not using the black suit though mean you aren’t powerful enough at times to defeat the enemies? There are plenty of cool effects and plenty of great features found in this game that you will be quite impressed with.

If destruction is more your style the Incredible Hulk game may be what you are interested in. He is huge and green and can get very angry when things don’t go his way. Even though the Hulk is attempting to be helpful he leaves a mess every where he goes. You may be having a great time destroying everything in your path but you need to be careful. The more you destroy the more forces will be coming to take you out. That could mean your game ends before you have gotten to explore very much out there.

The game portrays the Incredible Hulk as more of a human than a cartoon version. In fact if you have see the newly released movie then you will understand that there is a connection between the two. It is no accident that this newly released Wii game came out around the same time as the movie hit theatres. Most people agree that they like this humanist form of the Hulk much better.

There is also Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law. With this particular super hero game Harvey has to solve some tough cases. Are you up to the task of helping him do so? There are some that are relatively easy to solve and others that are going to take a Great Deal of concentration on your part. You can have a great time with this Wii game as well as enjoying sharpening your thinking skills.

The legacy of super heroes lives on with the many Nintendo Wii games. If you have a couple of favorites you can choose those games to play. It can be fun to be a part of those games instead of just reading about that super hero or watching them on TV. Nintendo has done a terrific job of bringing these images to life for people to really get into the game.

Do you think super black holes eat up matter but once they get to a certain point then they make new galaxies?

Because what i thought might happend is that super massive black holes are like in the center of the galaxy and our whole entire galaxy is getting sucked into it slowly and once it finally sucks up the whole galaxy its slowly releases atom by atom and then maybe the galaxy is recreated after that.

maybe but i highly doubt it

Do You Know Why He Left You?

Do you want to know the secret to why he left you for some other girl?  Look no further.  Herein lays the secret to why he left you and how You Can get him back.

When a guy leaves a girl, it’s rarely for a supercilious or superficial reason like “She’s more attractive than my ex” or “She has more money.”  In fact, you might be surprised as to the reason your ex left you.

“I just couldn’t make her happy anymore”. A man’s self-assurance rests in how others respond to him. If he works hard repairing the car, he’s going to want to be complimented on that. When he tries to do something to make you happy, he’s going to want to see the results of that. Guys like results. If there is a problem, they fix it because it shows a result. If a guy doesn’t see results, he’s going to feel like he’s failing at his job.

I hope you’re getting the message. If you don’t let him know that you’re happy, proud, pleased, grateful or appreciative - however you want to put it - with him, he’s going to want to give up and get out.

Take into consideration your feelings on the subject. If he doesn’t compliment you on how you look, don’t you start to feel less attractive and wonder if he is still even attracted to you? When you don’t let him know you’re happy, he starts to feel he doesn’t make you happy any longer and will move on to someone he can make happy.

Why? I rest my right ankle on my left knee when I sit, but the left leg buckles when I stand?

I mean if I was sitting like that for some time or if I was lying like that, as soon as I got up the left leg buckles. Is it because some nerve over there gets crushed or something? Like the ulnar nerve.

Sounds like the final stages of AIDS--say "hello" to Michael Jackson when you meet him.

Bear Truth

No well-rounded, killer training plan can be complete without kettlebells in my opinion.

However, is the kettlebell revolutions destined to crumble faster than Ricky Hatton's unbeaten record when something new comes in to excite peoples' training?

Personally I love the damn things. They've nearly killed me on a few occasions but still feel happy to have them around and have them in my life!

The question is are they just flavour of the month and only suited to certain people?

When are they really right for us?

Training goals

I like beating myself up in training. It's what I do. Yeah I want muscle and minimal body fat, but quite frankly I can't be bothered to think and act like a bodybuilder.

Kettlebells are awesome for my goals. They can be moved in such a way that it almost becomes an art form capable of destroying every muscle in your body in a matter of minutes.

I regularly perform complexes or circuits which leave me feeling like I got hit by a ton of bricks.

Try 5 rounds of 8 reps with two bells of double swings, double snatches, double jerks and renegade push-rows with some burpee-pull ups thrown in for extra pain.

However, if your sole training goal at a particular point is to optimise growth, I don't believe kettlebells are the way forward.

Sure You Can alter tempo and work with escalating density parameters to ensure progressive overload for hypertrophy but I still believe the fastest and most effective way is to structure 90% of your training around the big lifts (squat, deadlifts, bench, rows).

Performing squats with bells heavy enough for significant hypertrophy is pretty much impossible.

For those more advanced, the chances are you don't have access to heavy enough bells for deadlifts.

Functional training

Let's be honest, most people who promote 'functional' training don't really know what they mean.

Bicep training through doing curls isn't functional apparently as it's not a compound movement or involve rotation.

But what about athletes who need a strong bear-hug style grip such as in the NFL or MMA?

However, I believe there are certain exercises and areas EVERYBODY should pay attention to regardless of goals. This includes shoulder mobility, stability and strength, glute strength and the posterior chain in general.

The nature of kettlebell training especially lifts such as the swing and snatch, windmill and get ups, force positive adaptations in these areas. Yes, these can be replicated with dumbbells and barbells but not with the same challenge to stabiliser muscles.

Even bodybuilders need to be doing this stuff unless they want shocking posture and bench press injuries.

What's REALLY working?

A lot of people do like I just did and promote kettlebells because they're great for the posterior chain.

This is true but only when the muscles involved are firing in the first place!

You may well want to kick butt in your training session and see if you can achieve 200 snatches in 10 minutes, but if your glutes aren't firing, all you will do is end up with an overactive lower back and eventually, a sore one!

Most peoples' glutes don't work and should be doing a lot of work to release their lower back muscle and fire up the glutes using bridges and single leg hip lifts.

(This applies to luinges, squats and any other exercise which is supposedly good for your buttocks!)

Power training

I believe everybody of any age, fitness level and goal needs to be doing power training.

However if we just look at the top end of the spectrum at those who want athletic ability and to improve sports performance, we hit a bit of a stumbling block.

Unless you have grown up as a gymnast or spend hours each week on mobility, practicing olympic lifts can be just too time consuming to let you get any other training done.

Now don't get me wrong, I think we SHOULD be doing a lot more mobility work than we do, but sometimes the time constraint of our goal just doesn't allow lots of this work to be done. Much of it requires a skilled trainer to work with which many just can't afford or access.

Whilst it still requires practice to master, kettlebell training enables power training to be done through single arm snatches and clean and jerks much more easily. I also think single arm power work is more applicable to many sports such as boxing, tennis and volleyball than barbell work anyway.

However, once you start getting to the heavy stuff, maneuvering kettlebells can become somewhat harder to move than a barbell, especially holding at the rack position.

For instance, cleaning an 80kg bar is easier for most than 2x40kg bells.

It's also easier to progress by adding 2.5-5kg at a time to the bar than going from 2x40kg to 2x44kg bells.

Again, the training goal matters.

If you want more speed endurance than raw power, kettlebells are probably more appropriate!

Versatility

This bits easy.

You can throw kettlebells around anywhere at anytime.

Kettlebells are just behind bodyweight training in the 'Get out the commercial gym world' stakes.

Kettlebell training wrapped up

The key to kettlebell training is understanding why you are using them. It sounds obvious but many use them just because they've heard a lot about them.

You also need to make sure you're firing up the right muscles and usign them properly or shoulder and back injuries won't be far behind - leave your fat ego at the door when learning kettlebells.

Get your glutes working first. Trust me on this!

They are like sharks - mess with them when you don't understand them and they will eat you alive.

Master kettlebells as part of your arsenal and then we can talk about pulling it altogether for some of the World's Toughest Workouts!

Does Sean Hannity really need to "bear false witness" to keep his audience entertained?

Sean claims Obama said the USA is a Muslim nation.
What Obama said was "We are not a Christian nation, a Jewish nation, or a Muslim nation. We are a nation of citizens who live up to our ideals."
And in another interview he said something about the USA having one of the largest (over a million) Muslim populations in the world, so therefore we need to increase our dialogue and mutual understanding. What's wrong with that if it's true?
Why would Sean need to stretch the truth and "bear false witness" if he's such a Christian?

Meh. It's a common conservative arguing tactic, along with the ad hominem attack (name-calling). Since they don't know how to argue reasonably using logic, instead they demonize their opponent and use misrepresenting/misleading language.

You're looking to get media coverage on Oprah, or Time, or CNN.  You're holding your breath for the Today Show and the Wall Street Journal.  I don't blame you.  Those are great hits.  But the problem is those hits take time to garner and usually take several different pitches and approaches.  Those are the prime media outlets, the ones everyone is shooting for.  Keep shooting for them.  Study the type of stories they cover and come up with ways to present your story in a manner that fits their format, but don't keep your focus there.

Target your media campaign.  There are hundreds of small media outlets that need stories, from regional magazines and local newspapers and TV outlets to media that targets a specific market.  For example there are publications that focus strictly on art, or sailing, or decorating, or wine.  Chances are You Can find a publication that specifically covers your field.  And I'm not necessarily talking about trade publications, although those are always ones to consider, but consumer-oriented media that focus on a specific field.  Take some time and make a list of media outlets that fit your company's profile and target your market.  Don't simply concern yourself with the viewers or circulation, focus on the fit.

Also, target your regional and local media, but make sure to pitch towards their needs.  They are looking for local stories with a local hook.  Give them what they're looking for.  Unless you live in New York, Los Angeles or a similar type of media hub, these regional media outlets are not the triple A media hits, they are not media that will send your message around the country overnight, but they can offer you solid media coverage.  Perhaps even more importantly, they can offer you media coverage that you can then use to garner more media.  Media begets media; that's the name of the game.  So if you're stuck focusing strictly on the media home runs, rethink your strategy.  There is a huge media world out there.  Broaden your approach.  Broaden the media bull's-eye you're targeting.  You'll be surprised the effect some well targeted media coverage can have.  Then you can post that media on the net, but that's a whole other article.

How Permanent Are Carbon Offsets?

Something that worries many people about offsetting emissions with trees is how can you guarantee that they will last long enough? Trees take time to absorb carbon, extracting it slowly from the atmosphere as they grow. But saplings are vulnerable to bad weather, neglect and damage by animals. Older woodlands and forests face the risk of fire, pests and disease, which could release the carbon back into the atmosphere. And how can we be sure even if a forest is protected now, it won't be logged or cleared at some point in the future?

Because some offset schemes have been poorly run, with saplings dying or other problems, many people have concluded that it is impossible to guarantee the permanence of trees. But failed schemes shouldn't blind us to the fact that humans have been successfully growing trees and managing woodlands and forest for thousands of years. However, climate change is too grave and urgent a problem for us to afford to waste time and resources on efforts that will fail to deliver. Nor should we forget that forestry-based schemes tend to be remote, and most purchasers of offsets will never see the trees they are funding nor the carbon they are saving, so there is a vital issue of trust and credibility.

What we need is a realistic assessment of the risks, and reliable ways to ensure permanence.

But first we should note that permanence is not an issue unique to forestry-based offsets. Wind turbines or hydro power generation facilities can break down. Villagers can reject more efficient stoves brought in through an offset project and return to traditional carbon-intensive ways of cooking, and so on. There are risks with all forms of offsetting. (Although one unique aspect of forests is that they can regenerate of their own accord, and recapture lost carbon.)

And while we need to take the risks seriously, we also must not exaggerate them. The risk of fire, for example, varies enormously with where the project is based, the types of trees used, forest management procedures, etc. In the Pacific Coast forests of the northern US and Canada, the average frequency of fires is in the order of hundreds or thousands of years. Meanwhile, the Scandinavians and others have devised effective fire control regimes. Many of the risks of tree planting schemes can be minimised at the design stage by planting in low fire risk areas, by using disease-resistant species, and taking steps to minimise pests, etc. Schemes based on preventing deforestation should include steps to reduce the possibility of these threats especially where humans are active near forests.

But, no matter what we do, there will always remain an element of risk. Forest ecologists, in fact, regularly quantify the frequency and severity of damage from fire, pests and disease for different forest types. Companies growing trees for commercial purposes, and public organisations protecting and managing natural forests and woodlands, regularly use this information in their planning. We can also use this information to estimate how much of a forest or plantation might be lost over a given period of time, and discount it when calculating a carbon offset.

There are a number of other techniques we can use to mitigate the risk of trees being destroyed, or to compensate for the risk. Insurance is an obvious one. There are already specialised insurance products for commercial forestry and these could possibly be adapted for carbon offsetting. Liability agreements are another, where the buyer and seller make a legally binding agreement to replace any carbon credits lost through fire, disease, etc.

Another approach would be to pool the carbon credits from a number of schemes, and hold a certain portion back in reserve should there be damage to one of the projects. This a bit like banks having to hold a certain amount of capital in reserve to cover their market and credit risks.

Other steps can be taken to reduce specific risks. For instance, if there is a danger that local people could damage a forest in a quest for firewood, they could be provided with other sources of fuel, or more efficient cooking stoves, or part of the forest could be set aside for producing firewood sustainably.

Humans are good at managing risks. It is one of the factors that makes us such a successful species. There is much that we already know about managing risks in general --and those of forestry in particular-- that we can bring to bear in operating carbon offset schemes. If we factor the risk of impermanence into our calculations, we not only make our offset schemes more robust, we make them more credible as well.

Looking to buy a decent composite/Carbon Fiber bow.?

I want an upgrade from the somewhat trashy bow that came with my viola set, and I'm thinking of buying a synthetic bow as good-quality traditional ones are out of my price range. I know that technically speaking I should personally test each bow, but I'm assuming that synthetic bows are much less temperamental than their wooden counterparts and therefore much more consistent in quality.

If anyone could recommend any good bows around $200-400 (max. $500 if it's worth the extra cash) that would be awesome.

Codabow is most definitely the leader in CF bows.

the Codabow Diamond NX is pretty nice. it's 350 dollars.
It gave me the exact same sound as my 450 dollar brasilwood bow, but there was a metallic sound in there, with the particular NX I tried.

the Codabow Diamond SX is good. it's 510 dollars.
sounds almost exactly like the NX, without the metallic sound.

the people at Codabow make every Single Bow by hand. and balance it by hand.
and they come with a lifetime warranty. you just have to register it.

and yes, most CF bow models are going to sound very much alike.

Last year, we went through the process of choosing a CF bow. After 6 hours spread out over a week, I wound up with a SX. I love it.

the SX behaves a lot differently than a Wood Bow.
it's not necessarily louder, but I get the same loudness without as much pressure (but that may be because my wood bow has a less than perfect horsehair job....)
The bounce is easier to control, but it's harder to get consistent, extended bounces. you have to force it.
