Hand Compound Bow

What type of Bow Should i get to get started in Bow Hunting and Target shooting?

Im looking for a good bow to get started in bow hunting and target shooting! I would like to get some advise on models and makes of Compound Bows to look for? Im 6'3" 225lbs and in shape, plus im left handed. So what type of Draw length should i look for and what type of weight should i look for?

i agree with the feller above, craigslist and them types would be your last resort. Cuz u dont no what exactly what your gettin into, unless ur buyin from a friend buy new. Go to a archery shop, you should be able to find one pretty easily, they usually have both left and Right Handed bows. they will set u up with the right draw length. Since your in good shape and being 225 go with 70lbs draw back with an 80 let off im 5' 11" 155lbs and 70lbs is fine for my , what the let off means is that, u start off pulling back 70 but once u get to a certain point on ur draw it will be like ur holding 12 pounds, makes it great for Deer Hunting cuz u can be drawn back plenty early enough and not struggle holding it back. Personally i would go with a PSE not because of name brand or anything. Because the bows are built to last, and they are good priced, the Pse Brute is about 475 completely set up, thats with a upgrade site and rest. its a parralel Split Limb bow, cam to cam is 28 inches, great for the Tree Stand, and it is a very light bow. deadly accurate once u site it in. Ive killed 8 does and 2 bucks with it this year and i love it. but look around get something that feels good in ur hand. I would not recomend mathews or hoyt because ur paying mostly for the name. Not bashing on the other bows its just something that i have noticed. Good luck and good hunting
