Force Field Analysis – its not Star Wars its real!
It sounds like something out of Star Wars, but I assure you it is real and just as powerful in your workplace.
What is Force Field Analysis?
Force Field Analysis is a useful technique for looking at all the forces for and against a particular course of action. It balances free thinking (brainstorming all the possible driving and restraining forces), and logical thinking (working through each in a processed, disciplined way to establish which are the biggest forces and how, therefore, to deal with them), so it appeals to all sides. In effect, it is a specialized method of weighing pros and cons. This is a very simplified version of the tool, which is great for looking at all the things You Can do to maximize the stuff that fires you up, and minimize the stuff that burns you out!
Your Task This Week
Identify a situation in which you’d like to feel more Fired Up. A process; a task; a relationship; a meeting.
1. Use one sentence to describe the current situation, one sentence to describe what the ideal scenario would look like, and one sentence to describe the worst case scenario (i.e. what would happen if this situation wasn’t addressed and was allowed to get worse)
2. Brainstorm all the driving and restraining forces. Driving Forces are things (people; situations; elements; actions) which push us FOWARDS towards our ideal scenario and Restraining Forces are things which push us BACKWARDS, nearer our worst case scenario
2.
3. Identify the top 2 or 3 forces on each side which you believe have the biggest “weight”
4. Brainstorm and then refine the specific actions you could take to MAXIMISE the Driving Forces and MINIMISE the Restraining Forces
5. Choose 3 actions you’re absolutely committed to do - and action them!
Enjoy the difference it makes!

When it comes to the medical field, Do you believe in miracles?
I do. Sometimes things happen that science and logic just can't explain.
To ask a question like the one your asking is like asking if we believe in a higher power. The answer of course is yes! A true science man or woman believes that everything is solved with science...it wasn't God that cured that little boy's cancer it was the chemo and medication they prescribed... and yes that plays a major part but unfortunately...you can't take all the credit! God is the greatest Doctor of all. There is absolutely nothing he can't cure. So when a patient flat lines in the OR room and wakes after a few minutes...just know it was a miracle.
Keep in mind, I am NOT trying to take anything to the doctors who work around the clock to help others! God bless all of you!

Quantum Dots Enjoy the Glow of a Bright Future Quantum Dot’s Flexability Make them Useful in a Number of Areas
Many people have never heard of quantum dots, but they are an increasingly important part of nanotechnology. Quantum dots nanotechnology are approximately 5.5 to 6.5 nanometers in diameter. Nanometers are very small; equivalent to 1/1,000,000,000th of a meter. Though small, quantum dots are making a big difference in a number of areas including medicine, lighting, and solar energy.
Quantum Dots in Medical Technology
Quantum dots are being used in medical technology to track and monitor cell changes. Quantum dots are much brighter and more stable then their predecessors in medical technology, which were organic dyes. These benefits allow for much clearer results, and longer observation periods. Quantum dots are currently being used to track the development of cancer cells, so there’s a chance that the use of quantum dots in medicine could lead to better cancer treatments in the future.
Quantum Dots in the Home
Another use of quantum dots is in LED lights. LED stands for Light-Emitting Diode, and it is the newest technology in lights. Compact fluorescent bulbs are already more efficient than incandescent bulbs, and LED lights last four times as long and use half the energy of compact fluorescent bulbs. The biggest problem with LED lights is that they are new still a new technology, so the cost per bulb is still high. As with all new technologies, price goes down over time. This means that eventually LED lights will replace compact fluorescent bulbs as the light bulb of choice.
Quantum Dots in Solar Technology
A hot topic currently is solar energy, and quantum dots are being used in solar energy research as well. Much like how quantum dots are being used to improve LED lights, quantum dots are being used to improve solar receptors. Currently the theoretical limit for energy conversion is 33%, while using quantum dots increases the efficiency to approximately 60%. This is due to quantum dots’ ability to absorb and emit radiation. If the integration of quantum dots into solar receptors goes well it could be a major factor in solar panels becoming more mainstream and practical.
Keep an Eye Out for Quantum Dots in the Future
As you can see, there are a number of industries who need to buy quantum dots. Quantum dots are an exciting and emerging new technology which a great deal of potential. Keep and eye out in the future for some of the advancements mentioned here involving quantum dots.

When choosing swimwear, it's very important that you pick out colors that compliment your skin tone. No two people on this earth have the exact same skin color so remember when picking out your particular bikini, choose what is proper for you. Just because your best friend can wear a bright red polka dotted swimsuit and look great doesn't mean You Can too. It might make you look like a clown. You might look great in a pastel pink with blue trim bathing suit that's tailored just for you. Here are some general tips to consider with regard to your specific skin tone. We are going to separate them in terms of pale, olive, caramel, and dark brown. You might not be exactly any of those skin tones but you are in between them.
If you have very pale skin and it's impossible to tan, then you would look good in soft pastel colored swimwear. The lighter colors will blend in well with your sensitive skin tone. Of course you could wear a bright red bikini if you choose but it will be strikingly noticeable. Plus if you are pale and should happen to get sunburned, the red bathing suit and your red skin will make you look like a lobster. Stick to the light colors like beige, peach and baby blue to show off your genuine and unique skin tone.
For olive skin tones, you can wear blues and greens without any problem. Those colors bring out the naturalness of your skin color. Mixing the colors up would work well for you like wearing a swimsuit with a green top and blue bottom with green trimming or dots. Purple and burgundy would also be very vibrant colors that you could wear.
Caramel skin should capture colors of the earth. Orange, peach and green are great colors that show off the depth of caramel skin. Mixing and matching the bikini colors is also a great idea for you. Having caramel skin also allows you to flaunt deep rich red colors if mixed in nicely with a few accessories like hats or scarves.
Dark brown to black skin looks great in brown, black and even white. The white would be very noticeable but it also brings out and compliments the rich skin tone. Bright red would be very vibrant but it's also another color that brings out the dark texture. Stick to colors that look good on you overall so you can walk around in that sexy swimsuit with pride.
No matter what skin tone or color you have, just remember that you are beautiful and unique in Your Own special way. Choose colors that fit you the best and don't worry about any one else unless you're buying them a gift.

How do I mix a color wash to paint transparent detail over crackle paint?
I am trying to paint a dresser to match a bed I bought at Posh Tots, but don't know how to mix the pastel paints done over the crackle. Check out a picture of the look I'm going for here...
There are quite a few colors I would like to use when painting the detail, so I was hoping to just mix some from my collection of acrylic tube paints. Is this possible?
Should I put a sealer over the crackle paint before doing the color wash? If not, will the color wash crackle too?
Thanks so much for your help!
Lacy
I would check with some of the good home paint stores in your area because the products that created that bed finish areformulated to work together and to get the same effect with paints that are not preformulated would be lucky at best. I have been trying to find a topcoat that I can paint on my Oil paintings and so far have not had good luck. I used to paint furniture with a cracle laquer finish and I know that with out the formulated paints and good timing it is diffficult to achieve a good crackle finish.
