how well will my Tru Glo scope work with bdc?
i just bought a truglo 3-12 scope and it is made where u sight it in a t 100yds and then the next line is 200 then the next line is 300 ETC. i have it on my 243 and its not caliber specific so im wondering if my 300 yard shots will be accurate because it is not Caliber specific. also just as a side note im shooting 80 gr remingtons. o and i wondered if it affects my acuuracy sugnificantly by only having a 16' barrel. thanks
It is caliber specific and even bullet specific. They may just not tell you that. It may be close. The second line may be 220 yds and the third 340 yds. I have never had a BDC. We have gone to mil-dot scopes. With them, You Can estimate ranges. We also print out a ballistics chart for each caliber/powder/bullet combination. We can look at the chart and see how many mils to hold high or low for the particular distance.
