Can I use candle wax on the string for my Compound Bow?
Can candle wax be used on the string or should I just go out and buy proper wax for it?
You Can use any kind of wax you want, as long as you're ok with the scent etc. You can use a pork chop if you want. Wax is simply to lube the string and slow the fraying. There is no such thing as "proper wax"....that's more junk the amateurs get sold on and pass on like it's gospel.
Modern guitar players are faced with a different set of problems than their classical guitar playing counterparts. When a classical guitarist plays a piece of music they are performing from written music ... someone else's ideas frozen in time and placed on paper.
This places the classical guitarist in an safe place, if someone where to criticize their playing the guitarist could safely lay the blame on the composer ... after all they wrote it!
In contrast today's guitar player has to face possible criticism of both their own original ideas as well as the way they technically perform their music. It's no good trying to blame Bach, Mozart or Beethoven ... it's Your Own music, so this time it's personal.
Here's what you don't want to happen ...
1. You don't want any impediments in your technique ... when it comes to performing you want 100% reliable technique.
2. You don't want to be thinking about theoretical [data] information, you have to "own" that stuff ... everything has to be on autopilot; you need to be concentrating on and reacting to the music, musicians and audience.
3. You don't want your ideas to get stuck at your wrist, you need to be able to project your ideas through your instrument to the listener effortlessly.
What to do instead ...
The often quoted "practice makes perfect" phrase is only partly true; it's true that practice does make perfect ... You Can get really good at practicing mistakes if you are not careful!
If you want to be successful at playing the guitar we need to make an important distinction ... "PERFECT practice makes perfect".
Without question one of the major musical roadblocks to successful performance is poor Left Hand co-ordination; in particular the third and four fingers.
Here's a really neat exercise to get these two lazy fingers working for you.
Step 1: start with your third finger behind the third fret, first string and your four finger behind the fourth fret, second string.
Important: make certain both fingers come down on the strings simultaneously, not two separate movements.
Step 2: flip your fingers around the other way so you will have; your third finger behind the third fret on the second string and your fourth finger behind the fourth fret, first string.
Step 3: this time we're going back to our original shape only skipping the second string.
Third finger behind the third fret on the first string; fourth finger behind the fourth fret, third string.
Step 4: time to flip our shape again, third finger behind the third fret third string and fourth finger behind the fourth fret first string.
Keep doing this exercise gradually widening the string gap until you can reach right over to the sixth string.
Tip: practice s-l-o-w-l-y; always remember speed is a by product of accuracy.
Bonus tip: use your Right Hand fingers for this exercise not a pick, strive for equal balance of the two notes ... we want them to blend.
This exercise is not intended to sound musical, it's an intensive isometric exercise designed to increase your left hand strength and co-ordination so you can play your music effortlessly.
I invite you to use these tips and tools when you play the guitar.

A quiet Archery Quiver is essential if you are a Bow Hunter. For the bow hunter, there are four different types of quivers. This article will discuss these four types available, and hopefully help you decide which type will work the best for you.
The four types of bow hunter quivers include:
Solid Mount Quiver:
The Solid Mount is permanently attached to the bow, and holds the arrows at about the middle of the bow which helps with the balance of the bow. They are usually made very quiet with appropriate materials to keep the arrows from rattling. Bow hunters who stalk their prey through open fields and areas sometimes prefer this type of archery quiver because it makes their arrows quickly accessible.
This type of archery quiver is probably the most popular for the bow hunter. It attaches to the bow, yet can be easily removed, usually through a quick release. The arrows can be drawn and shot with it still attached as well. This ability gives the hunter the option to remove it if they hunt in a Tree Stand or blind. The detachable bow quiver can either be purchased with a noise-dampening attachment or can be added by the hunter. It is important that it have a proper hood that will securely hold and protect the arrows.
Hip Quiver:
The hip quiver is used by the bow hunter who prefers not to have his quiver and arrows attached to his bow in any way. It usually has a way to attach to the belt as well as a strap to go around the thigh. This is so it does not swing while walking, stalking and hunting. Removal of the hip quiver is usually quick and easy. They can also be quite artistic in their look. In addition, accessories can usually be added to protect the arrow heads and stop any possible rattles as well as keep them from getting caught and pulled out by limbs, branches and weeds.
The back quiver (also known as the backpack) is probably the most recognizable. They come in a variety of sizes, shapes and materials. They can be very elaborate or very simple, and are a favorite among Traditional Bow hunters. This type allows the hunter to easily reach behind and retrieve his arrow. Although it may take some time in practicing as well as adjusting for the hunter to get his arrow out quickly and without noise. In addition many backpack types can also be adjusted to use different lengths of arrows, and many hold up to 10 arrows. This is a good choice for those who do not wish to have their quiver attached to their bow, and prefer not to have them strapped to their leg.
Many hunters own a variety of types of hunting quivers. They use the one that works the best for the type and area of hunting they will be enjoying. Yet, experienced bow hunters will all agree one of the most important aspect of their quiver is that it is quiet.
You may need to purchase more than one type of hunting archery quiver to find the one that is right for you. A great resource for these products at low prices is: http://archeryquivers.org.

“How a New Discovery Made A Short Man 6 Inches Taller In 6 Weeks”
I Discovered the Secret to Add Several Inches of Solid Height to Anyone, No Matter What Your Age Is... Even If You Haven't Grown in Years!
Dear Friend,
If you’re tired of living your life feeling inferior and being rejected from achieving your life-long dreams because you’re “just not tall enough,” then read on to cure your height problems... once and for all!
Here’s how:
Are you tired of...
Not attracting the girl (or guy) you desire because they choose to date someone... “Taller?”
Feeling overwhelmed that you may be cursed by your inherited small stature and your growth stage is coming near an end?
Getting overlooked for job opportunities such as being a runway model or a manager because you’re too short?
“A Life of Emotional Pain and Inferiority”
Well, it’s good to know you’re not alone. In fact, there are many people going through the same lifelong height issues you are. As a young child, your small size was considered... cute.
But as you got older, your cute names turned into direct attacks of reminders of your short stature. For instance, have you been called dwarf, midget, little person, shorty, or pint sized?
Many of my patients state they’d rather lose a limb than to be called short names for the rest of their life.
And, the reason my clients come to me is not only because they know I can help, but because I feel their pain.
“Being Short Is A Lifelong Challenge You Don’t Have To Face”
My name is Dr. Darwin Smith. I have a thriving practice, a lovely wife and two healthy, beautiful kids. Some people may think just because I’m a prominent doctor things have always been easy for me. In fact, the contrary is true.
You see, I came from a family in Vietnam, where it’s common for men to be of a shorter stature. Actually, no one really puts any focus on it. Well, that’s what my parents told me, anyway. My mother is 4’ 9”, and my father is only 5’ 2”. So, it’s only natural that I would also be short.
Being only 5’ 3”, I was taller than my father, but I still felt the need to be taller.
Besides being bullied all through school, the hardest challenge I ever went through was getting my wife to finally say yes to go out on a date with me.
To get her, I did everything a gentleman could possibly do. I sent her flowers and cards. I wrote her letters. I asked her out probably a hundred times, but she always turned me down. After high school ended, we went separate ways.
We met again about 5 years later. I still had a deep love for her that never faded. I asked her out again, and to my surprise, she said, YES! After dating for about a year and a half, we married. We were happy, but there was always a burning question I had in my mind.
Finally, I got enough courage to ask her. “Honey, why did you finally say yes to going out with me after I asked you so many times before?” Her face turned red!
With tears in her eyes, she said, “I’ve always had a complex about going out with short men. I just never found them to be attractive. When I saw you again 5 years later, I was surprised and excited to hear about your new discovery and how you managed to grow 4 inches taller. Those 4 inches made a huge difference in my physical attraction for you.”
Wow. What my wife told me hurt like a knife stuck in my chest. I wish I’d never asked her that question. But, I also understand why she felt that way. I hated my height too. That’s why I spent years of research and study to create the Grow Taller 4 Idiots™ program.
Being carded and questioned about your age, which is embarrassing when trying to get into a club or order a drink?
Feeling insecure when talking to a group of people because you feel you’re not being “Heard?”
Missing out on your life-long dreams to becoming a professional athlete in sports such as basketball or volleyball because of your height?

Harper Lee borrowed this structure of 3 women "mothering" Scout from nature or from Bible?
Set in the South, To Kill A Mockingbird, has three women around Scout character to "mother" her to some extent (Calpurnia/Maudie/Alexandra) - so did she take this from the three daughters of Job, or the Inner Circle of Peter/James/John mentioned by Paul? Lee is still alive...I think it came from the natural environment; kingdoms of mineral/plant/animal; roots/branches/leaves of plants; animal head/body/limbs; growing period of formation/growth/completion; gas/liquid/solid forms of matter. What do you think about this perspective?
Even if you do not "see" the meaning of something (like a pattern from nature such as three women used in Lee's story/novel) does not mean that it will not be recognized at some point. Calpurnia, Maudie and Alexandra represent a pattern for this reader of TKAM...and perhaps some others out there. WHAT IF the author gave Mayella these three "intervene" with Bob Ewell? Make a nice skit for a literary activity?
I did not find the actual number of women significant....what i DID find significant was that without a direct maternal presence in their lives (a mother, and aunt, a sister, a grandmother) this child activley sought it out on her own....craved a woman's persepctive and company and was inwardly driven to fulfill it. I dont see why the number of actual women is all that significant.

Why would anyone buy climbing playground equipment for their home? While most people stick to swing sets and slides, some parents have gone the extra mile and purchased climbing equipment for their children, knowing that climbing is good for young muscles and bones.
In fact, climbing playground equipment could be the best investment you've ever made in your child's health. There isn't any need to go out and get a massive climbing wall . . . there are a number of smaller climbing structures that will work just fine for your child to scramble around on without being too expensive.
Of course, you'll need plenty of space, as well. There are some fairly small play structures, but once your child reaches a certain size, he'll need a larger place to play and climb. There's no fun in climbing a 4 foot mini mountain when you're twelve, after all.
You'll also want to make sure you have a soft area around the climbing structure, preferably rubber mulch, which can drastically cushion falls taken by children. Six inches of mulch is the ideal, since it can cushion up to a twelve foot fall. Most kids won't be that high, anyway, but it's good to know that they are protected from any lower heights, as well.
Climbing promotes health. It allows kids to find out about balance and gravity by experimenting with it. They can learn the limitations of their own bodies and push them further, while building muscles and exercising. This is a great way to help cut the chances of childhood obesity and kids who are active in climbing at a young age will tend to be active as they get older, too.
When you invest in climbing playground equipment, you're investing in your child's future. It's a good investment to make.
How well can you explain this verse, and descibe what it was actually like?
Genesis 1:2
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
What would that have looked like? Are there any paintings or anything I can use for ideas for a visual aid in a mini Creation museum? How about any rocks or stuff from that time? are they still around or were they completely destroyed in the Flood?
