Can I use candle wax on the string for my Compound Bow?
Can candle wax be used on the string or should I just go out and buy proper wax for it?
You Can use any kind of wax you want, as long as you're ok with the scent etc. You can use a pork chop if you want. Wax is simply to lube the string and slow the fraying. There is no such thing as "proper wax"....that's more junk the amateurs get sold on and pass on like it's gospel.
From first hand experience and by reading many articles and reports I have learned just how costly it is for a company to be disorganized.
One of my most heart breaking experiences as an employee was when one of my supervisors told me to "Lower my standards and not expect too much". My heart sank with those words as I was hired specifically to implement new coordinated and corrective procedures. So there I was, left powerless by lack of support. Needless to say, I, like others before me, had to walk away from this position. I found out later that some walk away after mere weeks of working in that role, that made my 6 months seem like eternity.
In defense of my immediate supervisors, they were just doing the best they could to deal with the situation. The fact was that organization and teamwork were not a priority, in fact it seemed making money was the only thing that was focused on. I still find that incredibly ironic since losing money to poor organization cuts into profit and company credibility.
In this particular situation I was witness to thousands of dollars in loses each month, let along each year which in itself was heartbreaking to me. Yet, each proposal I brought forth, for example the formation of a action committee or implementation of order checklists to catch possible errors, where not supported by management. The same team that wanted loses reduced yet didn't follow through on agreed actions to resolve the issues that caused them. It was to the point where going to the dentist for a root canal seemed less painful for me.
One of the best articles I recently read talks of a talented and skilled fundraiser who walked away from a position working for a state senator after only working 6 months. She was faced with a non-stop series of "emergencies" that forced her to stay late many times and things were not improving. Her boss was just "disorganized" and just kept piling the work on her desk without much thought to it.
This situation is somewhat different than the issue I faced yet is derived from same underlying issue of being reactive and not proactive in approach to problems that may occur.
It is very hard to feel efficient and productive when things are not organized and your supervisors don't work with you to help make changes for the better. I understand why that woman walked away because I have been in her shoes before.
Now, lets take a minute to talk about jut how much being disorganized costs. Goggle search it for yourself and you will see many supporting and shocking articles that talk about this in great detail.
Grab your calculator, lets go...
Average hourly wage of your employees: $_________ x 1 hour lost each day. Take the hourly wage above x 240 days. (48 working weeks is 240 working days) Now times the number of employees = $________.
Don't have your calculator out? Let me give you a better idea...$15.00 x 240 = $3600.00 x 10 employees = $36,000.00!! Ouch!
Now, what about that "turnover" issue...did you know statistically the cost to lose an employee is 25% to 200% of their annual salary? Between loss of morale, service disruption, absenteeism and costly mistakes made during training it all adds up. Again, don't take my word for it, take a look and you'll find many an article written about this, I promise.
Lets review one sample: Average salary of $40,000.00 = $10,000.00 to $80,000.00 for every employee that walks out the door. Ouch again!
Lets review some symptoms of disorganization:
o Stress at work leads to physical illness, which leads to time off work, which leads to lost productivity, which means a loss of revenue.
o Inadequate paper or electronic trail systems lead to poor follow through and communication with customers, which leads to lost business.
o Poor productivity from overlapping tasks when there is lack of clear communication.
o Purchasing items you probably already have but can't find.
o Lost income from forgetting to invoice a client.
o Poor growth, too much time spend "spinning wheels" to fix mistakes cause by disorganization and poor communication. Wasted time = wasted money.
o Last minute jobs creating overtime that could have been avoided with better planning.
Next, what are a few signs that it's time to make a change.
o Desk cluttered with files and equipment. Results of a poor filing system.
o Procrastination. It's either the fear of failure or simple indecision.
o Being reactive instead of proactive.
Don't wait for something to happen, make something happen!

What Are Golf Balls Made Of That Make Them Go So Far?
In the chemistry of air pressure, turbulence, and aerodynamics, surface structures are vital physical element. History has it that there are things that seem to be peculiar on their make-up hundreds of years ago which eventually came up with a better composition based on scientific research. And a golf ball is the best paradigm of this theoretical stand in history.
During the earliest days of golf on the eastern coast of Scotland, most players used ancient apparatus in order to play the game in a more disorganized and informal way. Here, the first clubs and golf balls are made up of wood.
It was on 1618 that the feather golf ball was finally introduced. This was commonly known as the "Featherie". This feather golf ball was a handcrafted ball made with goose feathers securely pressed into a horse or cowhide sphere. This is being done while the ball is still wet. After drying, the leather shrank and the feathers expanded creating a hardened ball.
But because these kinds of golf balls are specially handcrafted, they usually cost higher than the clubs. In doing so, only a few privileged people could afford to play golf during those times.
Next, came the Guttie golf ball. This prehistoric kind of golf ball was Made From the rubber like sap of the Gutta tree that can be found in the tropics. Normally, these Guttie balls can be easily shaped into a sphere when hot and eventually used as a golf ball. With its rubber nature, guttie balls can be cheaply reproduced and can be easily repaired by reheating and reshaping.
However, between the two earliest forms of golf balls, the feather golf ball was said to travel farther than the gutties. This is due to the smooth surface of the gutties that limits the capacity of the golf ball to cover more distance.
With this new scientific analysis, the developers of golf ball finally came up with balls with the "dimples" that are predominant in modern golf balls nowadays.
Dimples are crafted into golf balls so as to reduce the aerodynamic drag, which will be acting on the ball if it were totally smooth. This is because smooth balls, when sailing through the air, leave a huge pocket of low-pressure air in its stir therefore creating a drag. With the application of drag, the ball slows down.
Hence, by having dimples on golf balls, the pressure differential goes down and the drag force is reduced. These dimples create turbulence in the air surrounding the golf ball. This, in turn, forces the air to clasp the golf ball more closely. By doing so, the air trails the warp created by the ball towards the back instead of flowing past it. This results to a smaller wake and lesser drag.
Dimples also help players to put backspin on a shot making the golf ball break off on the putting green.
The idea of putting dimples on golf balls can be traced back during the gutta percha phase. Coburn Haskell introduced the one-piece rubber cored ball encased in a gutta percha sphere. It was during this time when the players observed how their shots become more and more predictable as their balls turned rough from play.
When William Taylor applied the dimple pattern to a Haskell ball in 1905, golf balls finally took their modern form.
From then on, dimpled golf balls were officially used in every golf tournament. In 1921, the golf balls took its form with standard size and weight.
Today, there is an abundant selection of golf balls to fit different golf game and condition. There are golf balls that offer control, while some offer distance. In whatever ways golf balls vary, only one thing is common and known. Golf balls are not just elements of the sports arena; they are more than ever paradigm of a concept in physics.

Headbangers Ball Trail Of Noise With Anthrax Part 1 of 5 1993
Apple Inc., formerly recognized as Apple Computer, Inc., could be referred to as one from the multinational corporations dependent in America with focus on manufacturing and designing consumer electronics, along with closely-related software program products. Established on 1st of April, 1976 in Cupertino (California) and having incorporated on 3rd of January, 1977, organization was named 'Apple Computer, Inc.' till the year 2006, but had the word 'Computer' dropped on 9th of January, 2007, in order to have ongoing expansion of company in to market of consumer electronics, apart from conventional focus on the personal computers. Apple can boast of having strength of 20,000 employees all over the world. The time period between 1989 and 1991 was known as the 'Golden Age' in the expansion of Apple.
Apple is amongst probably the most renowned words within the personal computer industry. Products manufactured by Apple benefit from an amazing aura and in general are superior to its competition both from the technical and software aspect. The principal reason behind the success of Apple products is that they are innovative, intuitive and different than the rest of the marketplace.
Mac laptops are in a different category from all other laptops, that's both their strength and their limitation. Their operating system is still at that time far ahead of Vista in terms of ease of use, dependability and versatility. The equipment is controlled 100% by Apple and their quality is really exceptional. On the downside, if you would like use windows or have a lot of windows software program you need to purchase an additional Windows license on top from the regular cost of the laptops. Macs are expensive but they deliver an outstanding client experience and for many, it is well worth the cost.
Apple notebooks are proposed in three lines, they are the MacBook which are the cheapest models designed for everyday users, the MacBook Air for the road warriors and MacBook pro for the heavy users.
The MacBook is equipped with 13.3 -inch TFT show. The frequency of its processor is possibly 2.1 or 2.4 GHz based on the model you select. The RAM is possibly 1 GB or 2 GB. The hard drive room goes from 120 GB to 250 GB; there is a DVD burner, constructed in camera, wifi, Bluetooth and all the necessary connections. The cost goes from $1,099 to $1,499. For a Mac that's as cheap as it gets. If you are used to Windows laptop pricing, that might seem like a Great Deal of money, but you are purchasing a MAC, that means best product, best software at a best cost. Just suggest to a Mac user to switch to windows laptops and you will understand why Apple can charge premium pricing, Mac does not have clients per say, they have raving fans.
The MacBook Air: like the MacBook, comes with a13.3 -inch TFT display. It has 1.6 GB processor and 2 GB of RAM. The hard drive includes a capacity of 80 GB, there's a DVD burner, built in camera, wifi, Bluetooth along with a few peripheral connections. Why buy the MacBook Air? First, ultra portability; at 3 pounds along with a maximum thickness of 0.76 inch, this really is currently the thinnest/lightest laptop computer with a 13.3 display screen. Second, let's face it, it is about style and status. This laptop computer is not very fast, has limited space and peripherals, but if you're a light user (i.e. email, web surfing...) who wants to make statement about style, look no further, this is your laptop computer.
The MacBook Pro: This laptop may be the work horse within the Mac family; it includes a 15.4 or 17 -inch TFT show. The frequency of its processor is possibly 2.4, 2.5 or 2.6 GHz depending on the model you choose. The RAM is possibly 2 GB or 4 GB. The hard drive room goes from200 GB to 250 GB; there is a DVD burner, constructed in camera, wifi, Bluetooth and all of the required connections. The cost goes from $1,999 to $2,799.
